Demonstration class on "Ragas commonly used in Hindusthani and Karnatic"

A demonstration class was conducted in Sivasamban hall, Sri Sathguru Sangeetha Vidyalayam on 27. 07. 2016 afternoon. . The class was led by Dr. Sri. K. N Renganatha Sharma in Vocal and the chief guest Pandit Sri Rabindra Narayan Goswamiji, Sitar Maestro. The main objective of the demo was to discuss various Ragas commonly used in Hindusthani and Karnatic tradition. Ragas like Abheri, Kamavardhini and Amrithavarshini were deeply elaborated in Hindusthani and Karnatic styles through alapana and swaraprasthara, accompanied by young talented flautist Sri Hariprasad Paudyal and Sri K. Thyagarajan on percussion. The guests were honoured by the faculties of our college.

Workshop on "Exploring successful career in music field"

Brightening the hopes of 'backbenchers' by throwing light on the wide scope of musical careers which are equally important as performance or lecturership, the workshop held at Sri Sathguru Sangeetha Vidyalayam by the Multi talented Wizard Palakkad K. L. Sriram was a grand experience to all students. The three hours class on the 01. 08. 2016 went on as a stunning opening for the career seekers in various levels of music. K. L. Sriram also demonstrated various basic but indispensable nuances of voice culture and practice techniques. The need for awareness of basics of sound engineering among the karnatic music students were also highlighted as the microphone and the sound system is the connecting point between any high level performance and the audience. The class became more catalyzed when Dr. G. Baby Sriram, another music maestro in karnatic field and also wife of K. L. Sriram shared the stage to clear all the possible doubts a student can have in this topic. They ended up emphasizing that new musical generation should not suffer any difficulties, which they faced during their times.The genius couple were great enough to declare all possible help from their side to the students towards improving their music. They added it is nothing but their offering to Music and Almighty.
